Taking the easy way out and showing a finished corner of the room - those are my cross stitch Santa pictures on the wall.
Still working on decorating and today I tackled the mantel. I had a pretty clear idea in my head but after 8-10 tries, it still wasn't coming together. I love these lit stars from Ikea, but was having trouble making the white flowers work and be visible against the white wall. It may change again, but I spent most of the day today on it and that's just more than enough!
Day after Thanksgiving means staring the holiday decorating - this year I'm getting an even earlier start since we're having a party next weekend. I set out some of the ornaments on the sofa for easier hanging.
Cindy was visiting from Chelan so I got totally distracted and only had a couple of shots to choose from and both were bad so I figured adding texture couldn't make them worse and might improve it a little. That's all it did, improve it a little!
Who knew it would take so long to set up this shot? Artfully arranging a pile of ribbon (!), getting the lighting right to show the sheen but not too bright, etc. 30 pics later, I have one that I'm okay with.....
A sad effort today - bad composition and lighting and nothing clever about it but sometimes when you don't feel good, the best you can do is get something taken and posted.... I've been collecting and pressing leaves this fall to end up in some yet-to-be-determined project.
I wish adjusting me was as easy as using PSE - brush out a few wrinkles, add a little color, crop the offending body part! :) Some PSE color adj and bokeh texture from Skeletal Mess.
Maybe this version shows my internally shiny side, my sparkle. Yeah, that's it!
If one is good, two must be great, right? Inspired to try one of these PSE playthings.... the poses I decided to try were challenging to come together but I was too invested to move on to another so this is it - it's more time consuming than I expected so will be sure to allow enough next time - maybe on a weekend.
